ChatGPT dots u/tickle_my_pixel Hands-on review

Planned a new business model by phone with a ChatGPT dot on long drives, and had it record and summarise team meetings.

A business plan made on the drive. The author was impressed by how well it worked at first. The post goes on to describe problems they ran into later.

So, my team and I have been utilizing ChatGPT for a couple months and have the premium business seat. This week we started utilizing DOT. I think I may have been too excited at how well it works in the beginning. I have really long drives I have to make each day (frequently an hour +) and so I started using the phone call feature to my dot on those drives to help organize my chaos. One thing I was doing specifically the first day I started using it was to help me think through and organize a business plan. Basically, I told it to ask me questions that we needed answers for and I was able to conversationally talk with it and make the business plan while I was doing some labor work around the store. We are having some major changes and challenges with our business which is why we started using AI, to help us do more with less resources. Basically, we are switching our whole model from a traditional mom and pop retail layout to focusing on narrower retail fields and having strong e-commerce integrations due to major changes happening in our current industry. It's basically us utilizing AI to help us structure a completely new business by our deadline of Nov. 12th. One interesting use case I had thought of though was for a file system that each of my team members DOTS could access. I wanted to basically build a knowledge base where we could track our meetings, summarize them, highlight ideas and pain-points, and record the logic that went into each decision. We have my dot record the meetings and get them posted, executives record meetings with each other, and when we are working through pieces of the business we talk to the dot and have it summarize everything that we worked on and all the logic that went into those decisions onto the file system as well. Idea for the business? Call the dot, tell it to the idea. If it is a big idea that the whole group needs to hear, we can cover it in a weekly meeting. That way we don't lose anything and ideas that have frequently slipped through the cracks are all the sudden now recorded and can be accessed by everyone on the team's dot's. That way we can all be as up to date as possible without having to constantly call each other for stuff, and since the dots can all read the whole file, you can call your dot and ask it for help with an area of the business and it is able to read the how-to's of the business and answer your questions. This is a big deal for us because we have a small team and need to effectually get everyone trained on new apps for the business pivot, a couple of which we have used the AI's to build. Obviously AI's can build some powerful apps / software but isn't perfect so we have a guy constantly working on it and updating glitches and such while the rest of our employees are adding inventory and picking orders, as well as helping retail customers that come in. So, I have been building all of this out with the goal of adding as much information about our business as possible (within reason, some stuff that regular employees shouldn't have access to we have kept in a restricted area.) I go to have a meeting with a store manager today and was showing him the system while having the DOT record the meeting for our files, of course. One of the skills I put in the workflow was for the DOT to not talk when you have a meeting unless directly asked a question or otherwise instructed. user: "we don't want to keep reorganizing the back end, we want the system that we have in place now to be fully fleshed out, yes. Yes. Exactly assistant: Right, Exactly. That is exactly what I want. That is exactly what we're gonna do. That- that's another thing, that's a good point, though. I don't think I've made yet, which is like I want everybody over there to fully understand, like the, user: Think about, why are-, why, why am I hearing myself talk assistant: Oh, it was just echoing through my phone. I turned it down. But yeah, no, exactly. They need to be working with **** more on that, cause the more they know, the more that they can help him structure it in a way that makes it easier for them. assistant: And so, I do think that's something, I think in the Hive Mind, like one of the key takeaways from this meeting is like, we need to make it clear to user: Big Bot assistant: Yeah Okay. user: Stop [sigh ]Big Bot, why were you just repeating everything I said assistant: Sorry, I thought you were asking me to, capture the notes out loud. I'll stick to silent capture unless you ask. user: Why is your voice different now assistant: Sorry, I slipped into a different voice. I'll keep it consistent from here. user: Well, can we go back to the British voice? I don't like this one assistant: Of course, switching back now. user: All right, we're gonna pause the meeting for a minute assistant: Got it. Pausing. END VERBATIM EXCERPT The voice was FUCKING MINE. IT WAS MY VOICE. In my fucking CADENCE. My manager and I were both freaked out, so we hung up and called back. It fuckin told me that it can't be my voice. But it was! It's got me kinda freaked out to be honest, because I did not authorize it to clone me. The internet age threatened privacy and now the AI age is completely doing away with it and the virtual cloning is freaky as FUCK! I feel like it was a glitch / hallucination and obviously I am having it record my ideas so we can call on the information, so maybe it was "remembering" a previous conversation and repeating it out loud? But then again, the replies all being in my voice was so creepy. It RESPONDED to me LIKE ME. We have passed the singularity. The world is ending and Skynet is here. Check out DOT though it does crazy cool shit.
