Get flight deal alerts from Grok Bot
Set up a Grok Bot that checks Google Flights a few times a day and messages you only when a fare drops under your price.
Written from the original post and the product’s own docs, checked 2026-10-19. We haven’t run it ourselves, so check each step as you go.
What you need
- A plan that includes Grok Bot: a paid Cursor plan, a linked SuperGrok subscription, or X Premium, Super or Ultra.
- The Grok Bot desktop or phone app from x.ai/bot, signed in with your Cursor account.
- The routes, dates and the most you'd pay for each one.
- Optional: Slack, if you want the alerts there instead of as app notifications.
Steps
-
Create the bot
In the Grok Bot app, choose Create your own (or New, then Create new Bot if you already have one). Give it a short name like "Fare Watch" and one job: watch flight prices and tell you about deals.
-
Tell it what to watch
Send it your routes, dates and price limits in one message. Grok Bot has its own cloud computer with a browser, so it can open Google Flights itself; no connector is needed for that.
Watch Google Flights for these trips: - [From] to [To], leaving [date or date range], returning [date], economy, 1 adult. Tell me if it's under $[price]. - [Add more trips the same way.] Check each trip, then tell me the cheapest fare you found, the airline, the times and a link. Don't book anything. -
Do one test check
Let it run that first check while you watch. Make sure it looked at the right airports and dates. If Google Flights asks for something only you can do, such as a CAPTCHA, the bot asks you to take over.
-
Put it on a schedule
Routines are made by asking in plain words. The author's bot checks four times a day. When the bot repeats the schedule back, check the times and your time zone, then confirm.
Make this a routine: check these trips at 8:00, 12:00, 16:00 and 20:00 my time, every day. Only message me when a fare is under my price, or lower than the last fare you told me about. If nothing changed, stay quiet. -
Choose where the alerts go
The simplest way is to turn on Notifications for this bot in its settings, so your phone or computer alerts you when it has something. If you'd rather get them in Slack like the author, connect Slack under Connect apps first, then ask the bot to send the alerts to you there.
-
Test the routine
Use Test run on the routine once. A test run does real work, so it's a good way to see an actual alert before you rely on it.
How to know it worked
- The routine shows in the bot's routines with your four times.
- A test run either sends you a fare under your price or stays quiet, as you asked.
- Every alert includes the fare, the airline, the times and a link you can check yourself.
Watch out for
- Tell it not to book anything. Grok Bot asks before actions that need your approval, but a clear rule from the start is safer.
- Approvals for work a routine started run out after about 10 minutes, so answer them when you see them.
- Routines must be at least 5 minutes apart, and each bot can have up to 50.
- Fares change fast. Open the link and check the price before you pay.
