So I have my first ever AI trip.
Just want to give feedback back for people who want to have their agents plan their trips and buy the tickets.
I was invited to visit Rocket Labs Mynaric facility in Munich. As the notice was really short and I’m quite busy with my work and i didn’t care where i slept i gave it all to Grok Bot to handle and figure out. I just wanted to trip to work and didn’t have time to think about it.
Grok bot researched the flights and told me that it’s better for me to leave the day before and gave me choices. I picked the best flight and then it booked it for me. (This is the only thing that was not smooth as the AI can’t fully do everything by itself so I kept having to take over the computer to fill in data and it would have been easier just to buy the ticket by myself.)
Then I asked it to find a hotel that works with the airport and Mynaric.
It gave me a few options. I picked the hotel it recommended the most and then I flew.
This saved me countless hours as normally I would have researched all plain tickets and worried I didn’t check the same tickets on all the discount sites or I missed a better plane. Same for the hotels. As I’m booking a hotel I don’t know where I’m going so how do I know the hotel is going to work. Normally I rent cars when I go somewhere to make it easy to reach the hotel.
To my shock the AI booked a very simple hotel that was on the same train route as the Mynaric factory. The train ticket was $15. The hotel had a restaurant next to it, a grocery store and it was super convenient from the airport.
Then I took the same train route the next day and did the interview and filming in Mynaric and then I told AI I have 5 hours to kill until the flight. I want to do tourist things.
It gave me an itinerary which was: get back on the same train go to the city center and go here 1 and then there 2 and 3 and so on.
And my mind was blown how beautiful Munich was. I got to see a good chunk of it. The train ride was $5.
And now I’m back at the airport!
So in the end I saved on not having to rent a car. I saved countless hours and stress on not needed to choose anything and the trip was freaking amazing! It just worked. I slept well, made it to the interview and did some site seeing! So I’m quite mind blown.
I think for example if I’m going on honeymoon I would want a bit more control on the trip. But for this use case it has been perfect! Grok bot for the win!
What prompted it
A short-notice invitation to Rocket Lab’s Mynaric facility in Munich, a busy schedule and no time to plan the trip.
What Grok Bot did
- Gave the whole trip to Grok Bot to handle.
- It researched flights, advised leaving the day before and offered options. The author picked the best flight and it booked it.
- Asked it for a hotel that works for both the airport and Mynaric. It offered a few options, and the author picked the one it recommended most.
- After the visit, told it there were 5 hours before the flight and asked for tourist things to do. It gave an itinerary: back on the same train to the city center, then one stop after another.
Evidence and limits
- Original post checked on X (Oct 17, 2026)
- Outcome reported by the author
- Not reproduced by anyone else yet
- Booking the flight wasn’t smooth. The bot couldn’t do everything itself, so the author kept taking over the computer to fill in details, and says buying the ticket directly would have been easier.
- For a trip like a honeymoon the author would want more control, but calls it perfect for this kind of work trip.
What the media shows
Four travel photos from Munich: a domed palace building with gardens, a baroque church interior, Marienplatz with the New Town Hall, and a domed garden pavilion. They show the results of the trip, not Grok Bot's interface. No booking screens, prompts or settings are shown.
