Grok Bot’s desktop app connects to your local machine. If your local machine is awake, you can access it through your Grok Bots on your phone. Grok Bots can now be accessed through Grok in the Tesla. I keep my MacBook docked and awake at my apartment at all times. Here’s how I use my voice in my Tesla to build with Grok Build: 1) “hey grok” in Tesla 2) prompt “have my chief of staff bot build XYZ with grok build and save it to Google Drive” 3) My chief of staff bot has a skill installed that makes it open a terminal window on my MacBook and prompt Grok whenever I ask it to do anything with grok build. 4) Builds whatever I’ve asked in Grok Build on my Mac in a terminal window, dumps the output in the Google Drive folder on my MacBook. MacBook syncs it up to the cloud. Open output on phone.

What you need

Connected apps
Google Drive, via the MacBook’s synced folder.
Skills
A skill on the chief-of-staff bot that opens a terminal window on the MacBook and prompts Grok.

What prompted it

The author wanted to start coding work by voice from the car.

What Grok Bot did

  1. Say “hey grok” in the Tesla.
  2. Ask it to have the chief-of-staff bot build XYZ with Grok Build and save it to Google Drive.
  3. The bot’s skill opens a terminal window on the MacBook and prompts Grok.
  4. Grok Build builds it there and drops the output in the MacBook’s Google Drive folder, which syncs to the cloud so the author can open it on the phone.
