Ask Muse to claim compensation for a delayed flight
When a flight is badly delayed, have Muse file the airline's compensation claim, check rebooking options and keep you in the loop before anything is sent.
Written from the original post and the product’s own docs, checked 2026-10-19. We haven’t run it ourselves, so check each step as you go.
What you need
- Muse, Meta's AI agent: the Muse app on iOS or Android, muse.ai, or Muse in WhatsApp. It's rolling out in the US first.
- Your booking confirmation number and the airline account you booked with.
- Optional: your email connected to Muse, so it can find the booking and answer the airline's replies.
Steps
-
Give Muse the facts
Open Muse and tell it which flight, how long the delay was, and what you want: compensation, and maybe a new flight. The author asked Muse to file for compensation after a 7-hour delay on Delta.
My [airline] flight [flight number] on [date] from [city] to [city] was delayed [hours] hours. My confirmation number is [code]. Please: 1. File a compensation claim with [airline] for the delay. 2. Look for a new flight to [city] on [date] and show me the options. Don't rebook until I pick one. 3. Show me any message to the airline before you send it. -
Let it work, and answer its questions
Muse works in its own secure browser and can fill in forms on the airline's site. You can close the app and it keeps going. It comes back to you when it needs approval, for example before it sends an email.
-
Sign in when it asks
If the airline site needs your login, Muse asks you to step in. It can't see your passwords; they go into its secure storage.
-
Approve the claim and any rebooking
Read the claim before you approve it: flight, date, delay and your details. If you want a new flight, pick it yourself from the options. Payments go through Link by Stripe with a one-time card number.
-
Check the result
Look in your airline account for the credit or compensation, and in your email for the airline's reply. Muse keeps a full record of what it did, so you can see every step.
How to know it worked
- The claim shows up in your airline account or in an email from the airline.
- Any credit or refund appears in your airline account. The author saw a $250 credit about 5 minutes later.
- Muse's activity record matches what you approved.
Watch out for
- What you're owed depends on the airline and the country. Muse can file the claim, but the airline decides the amount.
- Don't let it rebook without showing you the options first; ask for that in your message, as above.
- Read replies to the airline before they go out. Muse asks before sending email, so say no to anything you wouldn't send yourself.
- Only connect the accounts it needs, and choose read-only access where that's enough. You can disconnect them later.
