ChatGPT dots u/Ninjatogo Hands-on review

Had a ChatGPT dot rebuild a partner’s art website in Svelte, using a shared Space as an inspiration and progress board.

An art website rebuilt in Svelte. The site is in progress. The author says sharing a Space with an agent working in the loop all day is what makes dots useful for them.

Here is my current website: [link]. Rebuild it in [framework] with a cleaner layout. Keep a board where you post screenshots of each version and read the notes and images I add, and change the site based on them.

My partner has been trying to create a new website for their art and I was trying to help them with it in my free time but that free time has been a bit tight lately. They already have a website that they created with a drag and drop site builder but the layout controls are kinda limiting which is why we're trying to do it over from scratch using Svelte. I gave my dot the link to the current website and asked for it to start working on a recreation but also use the new space feature to create a board where it can log progress updates, share and monitor visual inspiration ideas and use the board as an asynchronous collaborative project planner. Throughout the day as ideas come to me I can paste screenshots and photos from my phone to the inspiration board and leave notes which the dot can read and use to automatically make changes and post variation screenshots to the progress board. I haven't fully tested but it seems that we can share spaces with other users so my partner should also be able to drop notes and pictures into it for the dot to use to continue iterating on the site. I think that last point is the thing that makes it really useful for me, being able to share a space and collaborate with other users and have an agent in the loop 24/7 watching the space and making progress. Extrapolating a little bit to when OpenAI get multiplayer Dots working, I can envision a future where users in a large team can can be working on projects and using the spaces feature to store their notes and the user's dot could proactively collaborate with other dots to surface events such as, "Hey, I noticed that you're working on feature XYZ, you might be interested in talking to user123, they have some notes in their space indicating that they worked on something similar last year" or "The design team updated their theme board this morning, would you like to preview the app with their new chosen color palette?" I'm just spitballing ideas here but I'd like to hear what others think about my initial use case at least. Is there a better way to collaboratively do that kind of task?
